Characteristics Of Common Sports Fabrics

1. Pure cotton:
Advantages: Good sweat absorption, good breathability, comfortable to wear, strong skin-friendliness, can give people a good wearing experience, suitable for some low-intensity sports or daily wear.
Disadvantages: Easy to wrinkle, deform and shrink, and when the amount of sweat is large, the moisture absorption and expansion of cotton fibers will cause the breathability to decrease, and stick to the skin to produce a cold and wet feeling, which is not suitable for high-intensity and long-term exercise.

2. Polyester:
Advantages: It is a synthetic fiber with high strength and wear resistance, not easy to wear and tear, but also has good elasticity and wrinkle resistance. The sportswear made is light, easy to dry, easy to care and maintain, and suitable for a variety of sports occasions.
Disadvantages: Relatively poor breathability, not as comfortable as natural fibers, and may feel stuffy when worn.

3. Spandex:
Advantages: It is an elastic fiber, usually blended with other fibers, which can greatly improve the elasticity of the fabric, so that the clothes fit tightly to the body while being able to move freely, suitable for sports that require a large range of motion, such as yoga, gymnastics, etc.
Disadvantages: The fiber firmness is relatively poor, and it is easy to break the thread, and the clothes made of spandex fabric are usually more expensive.

4. Quick-drying fabric:
Advantages: Most of them are blended with polyester, cotton and spandex, which can quickly guide sweat to the outside of the clothes where it is easy to evaporate. They have strong breathability and quick-drying ability, keep the body dry, and reduce the discomfort caused by sweat soaking clothes. They are widely used in various sportswear, especially running, fitness and other sports.
Disadvantages: Compared with natural fiber fabrics such as pure cotton, quick-drying fabrics may be slightly inferior in skin-friendliness.

5. Nylon (nylon): light, wear-resistant, shrinkage-resistant, tear-resistant, wear resistance is the best among textile fibers, high breaking strength, excellent resilience and fatigue resistance, low density, it is a lighter fiber except for ethylene and polypropylene, and its hygroscopicity is lower than natural fibers and recycled fibers, but its hygroscopicity is second only to vinyl alcohol among synthetic fibers, and its dyeing performance is good, which is suitable for making sportswear, such as sports shorts, sports underwear, etc.
